Creamy vanilla frozen yogurt is divine with this sweet cherry compote. You can serve the compote warm or chilled, and it can be made a day ahead. A cherry pitter is handy, but not necessary; simply halve the cherries and remove the pits over a bowl to catch any drips.

Method

  1. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, stir together cherries, sugar, and orange and lemon juices.
  2. Using tip of a small sharp knife, scrape seeds from vanilla bean halves into pan. Cook, stirring often, until cherries begin to release their juices and sugar is dissolved, about 3 minutes. Adjust heat to maintain a gentle simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until
