According to family legend, when my grandmother Ethel Raichlen got married, she didn’t know how to cook. (Grammie Ethel was not a little spoiled back in the days before the Depression. She even drove a Cadillac to high school!) So her mother, Bertha Fribush, would cook dinner for her daughter and son-in-law and drive it over to their apartment. Every day! For years on end!
