This might be the most versatile Mexican sauce ever. The recipe was given to me by my in-laws and is a family favorite. Because it’s so mild, it makes a great topping for meats, eggs, and tamales and a great dip for chips. It can also be used as a base to poach eggs or fish such as tilapia, or as a sauce over Huevos Rancheros Horneados. This cherished family recipe makes a large batch, and it freezes well.
