This rich, traditional Scottish tart mixes the sweetness of the golden syrup with the zestiness of the marmalade. You can make this using my homemade orange & clementine marmalade recipe on page 21.

Ingredients

For the pastry

  • 320 g plain flour
  • 65 g icing sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Method

Preheat a baking sheet in the oven to 200°C/390°F.

To make the pasty, use a food processor to pulse the flour, icing sugar and salt. Add the butter and pulse until you make breadcrumbs. Whisk together the egg and orange juice; pour into the food processor along with the orange
