Pògan Beaga is the Gaelic for wee kisses, and whoever you bake these for will definitely be giving you a hug and kiss to say thank you. Topping your salted caramel cupcake is a square of vanilla tablet. This recipe from Tina Campbell, a fantastic island baker, will give you a real sugar rush!

Ingredients

For the cupcakes

  • 150 g butter
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 tea

Method

Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F. Line a muffin tin with paper cases.

To make the cupcakes, cream together the butter, sugar and vanilla for a few minutes until light and fluffy. Then whisk in one egg at a time until fully incorporated.

Sieve in the flour and baking powd
