A classic custard slice with silky smooth custard and crisp puff pastry is the ultimate teatime treat. This is pure nostalgia, and so much easier to make than you’d expect. Follow the recipe and the custard should set perfectly!

Ingredients

  • 2 x 320 g (11¼ oz) packs of ready-rolled puff pastry

Method

Preheat your oven to 180°C fan (400°F) and line 2 baking trays with baking parchment.

Unroll your puff pastry and cut it into two 20cm (8”) squares and place each square onto a lined baking tray. Cover each pastry square with some more parchment paper and then place a baking tr
