Before the Christmas lunch prep begins and the first bottle of prosecco is opened, it’s always good to start the day with a hearty bowl of porridge. Brimming with aromatic spices, this comforting recipe not only sets the perfect tone for the day’s festivities but might also become a cherished favourite throughout the year.
To make your infusion, crush the cardamom pods lightly and add them to the milk in a pan. Then add the teabag, syrup, cloves, cinnamon stick and ground ginger to the milk. Allow it to simmer on a low heat for 5 minutes, then lift or strain out the whole spices and teabag.
