  • cups cut-up, dried Pitted prunes
  • cups chopped dried apricots
  • water, apple juice


  1. In a kettle, almost cover the prunes and apricots with water or fruit juice, and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes, or until the fruit is soft.
  2. Remove the orange part of the orange peel with a vegetable peeler. Slice the peel into thin slivers. Add to the kettle while the prunes and apricots are cooking. Remove the orange fruit by cutting on each side of every se
