Spiced Pineapple Sauce

Name: Spiced Pineapple Sauce
Yield: Will depend on how long the sauce is cooked but it should be about 1 pint
Ingredients: 1 teaspoon ginger; ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper (omit for a less spicy sauce); ¼ teaspoon allspice; 20 oz. can crushed pineapple packed in juice; ¼ teaspoon cloves; finely grated lemon rind (optional); 1 small lemon, juiced (about ¼ to ⅓ cup); 1 cup sugar (half white and half brown, if desired)
