In Thailand, I have many times enjoyed this delectable and unusual dessert. It is a custard steamed inside a small pumpkin. The pumpkin is gently cooked in hot vapours which keeps it extremely moist while its rich sweet flavours suffuse the pudding.

I have changed it slightly so that you may serve this in ramekins. This dessert can be served hot or cold which makes it ideal for entertaining. If you are serving the desserts cold, you could serve them with some clotted cream.
