My favourite dessert is a simple one, consisting of mixed fresh fruits: nutritious, colourful, soothing and fresh-tasting. The combinations are endless, but here is a rather exotic example I often enjoy.


  • 450 g (1 lb) fresh pineapple

Peel the pineapple and cut it into thick pieces, discarding the tough core. Slice the papaya in half lengthways and remove the seeds. Peel away the skin and cut the flesh into slices. Peel and slice the bananas. Combine all the fruit in a large bowl, add the lime juice and sugar and mix well. Serve at once.
