KATHY: On many weekends, my cousins and I would get sent to stay with my maternal grandmother, Pó po. My aunt would do the shopping in Chinatown and then we would have a big family meal at my grandma’s house. My mom and dad’s families were culturally quite different. My dad’s side had rosewood dining tables with glass covers and a lazy Susan. Meals would be eight to ten courses with matching ornate servingware, smooth melamine chopsticks, and porcelain spoo
