  • 6–8 onions
  • ¼ pound butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method

Peel onions and slice very thin. Put into skillet with butter. Cover and cook for about 20 minutes. Add salt, freshly-ground pepper, and sugar. Stir-cook for about 10 minutes. Serve as a garnish to other foods.
