  • pounds green beans
  • 3 quarts water
  • Salt

Method

  1. Remove the ends and string the beans if necessary. If beans are uniform in size and young, they may be cooked whole. If not, cut them into 1-inch pieces or French-cut them lengthwise.
  2. Bring water to a boil and add 1 tablespoon salt. Put beans into a vegetable bask
