  • 3 quarts water
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • ½ pound


  1. Bring water and salt to a boil in a large kettle. Break noodles into 2-inch lengths. Add to kettle and boil until tender.
  2. If you have some French bread that is dried out, turn it into crumbs, or use whatever bread you have on hand.
  3. When noodles are done, drain, and pour onto a buttered oven-proof platter. Sprinkle with crumbs and spoon melted butter
