Ingredients

  • cups milk
  • 1 cup sugar

Method

  1. Put all ingredients into a glass fruit jar. Split the vanilla bean in half, lengthwise, before adding it to the jar. In winter set the jar on a windowsill where it will be cool. In summer it will have to go into the refrigerator. Stir every day for about 15 days, or 20 days if refrigerated. The mixture will become curdled and unattractive.
  2. Filter the mixture.
