To make enough red slump for 6 (though it would stretch to 8 – it’s just I hate stretching), you need:


For the Fruit

  • 1 kg red summer fruits
  • 150 g (10 tablespoons) sugar


Put the fruit in a dish – I use one of those oval old-fashioned cream stoneware bowls, but any pie or baking dish that has a capacity of about 3 litres should do. Sprinkle the fruit with the sugar. How much depends on the sweetness of the fruit itself, obviously enough. Start with about 6–8 tablespoons
