You are now ready, young bowl maker, for the quintessential bowl. Perhaps even the reason the bowl was invented back in Mesopotamia! Brown rice, the hippiest of tempeh, miso tahini, sprouts, and rainbow carrots will have everyone worshipping at your feet (as they should)!


For the tempeh

  • 1 (8-ounce/225 g) package tempeh, diced
  • 3 tabl


  1. Make the tempeh: Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté the tempeh in 2 tablespoons of the olive oil with the salt, tossing until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes. Add the remaining tablespoon oil, toss to coat, and shut off the heat. Sprinkle in the nutritional yeast and toss to coat, toasting the yeast a bit. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
