Gorontalo lies west and a little south of Minahasa, but their food crops are quite similar. This is another substantial soup made with sweetcorn, not unlike tinutuan, although here the only vegetables are beansprouts. Another difference is that this soup is actually a fish soup, or more accurately a fresh tuna soup. Alternatively, if you put in much less water, the dish can be served as a fish-and-vegetable dish to accompany plain boiled rice or boiled pot
