  • About

I recently made pork chops for dinner and wanted to do something special. I made this very simple spice mixture and have since found it good for chicken and large mushrooms as well. It serves as a replacement for breading and browns well. The mixture can be multiplied and kept tightly sealed to use as desired.

Ingredients

Spiffy Spice Mixture

  • 2 tablespoons Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin

Method

Make the Spice Mixture

Combine the spice mix ingredients in a pie dish or flat plate. Lay the pork chops on top and turn several times to coat thoroughly.

Cook The Pork Chops

Heat the oil in a heavy sauté pan just large enough to hold the chops next to each other over medium-high heat. Put in the chops.
