  • About

One of the most popular hot drinks consumed throughout Bhutan is called ‘butter tea’ as it is made from boiled local tea leaves, thoroughly mixed with local butter, with salt added for a unique taste. This tea is helpful in confronting the extreme cold, as is the case for some parts of Bhutan. It’s best served with varieties of traditional rice snacks, such as puffed rice or rice flakes.
