Mushroom Pizza

4. Pizza ai Funghi


  • about 8 tablespoons passata
  • about 3 oz (75 g) mushrooms, peeled and thinly sliced
  • about 3 oz (75 g) mozzarella cheese, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • pinch dried oregano (optional)


Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 9, 475°F (240°C).

Spread the passata all over the prepared pizza base, leaving a 1 inch (2.5 cm) space round the edge.

Scatter the mushrooms and mozzarella evenly all over the tomato.

Sprinkle with olive oil, salt and pepper and oregano, if using.

Bake for about 10 minutes or until the crust around the edge of the pizza is cooked through and the cheese has melted.
