This is a useful vegetable to accompany various dishes. The taste reminds me slightly of spinach because it comes from the same family. I’m told that Swiss chard contains lots of trace elements and iron is the predominant one. Another chance to imitate Popeye!
Clean the Swiss chard stalks and cut into small strips.
Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the garlic and chilli if desired and fry gently for a minute, taking care not to burn it. Then add the Swiss chard and stir fry. Add the water. Cover with a lid and cook until tender, mixing from time to time. This should take about 20 minutes. Season and serve with <
