Traditionally, lassi is a savoury drink, but I like mine sweet and fruity, laced with the delicate perfume of cardamom. If you’re trying to avoid refined sugars, feel free to use raw sugar or brown rice syrup to sweeten your lassi. With lassi, there is endless room for creativity. I’ve included several spins on the sweet version below, just to get you started.
Put all the ingredients except the sugar in a blender and blend until smooth. Taste, and add sugar if necessary – the amount you’ll need depends on the sweetness of the mangoes and how sweet you like your lassi.
