In this popular recipe, thin-sliced beef is marinated and then simply pan-fried. Cooking the meat takes only a few minutes. During the cooking, I add vegetables to the skillet. When you want a quick beef dinner, this is it.
If possible, have the butcher slice the beef for you.
In a suribachi, preferably, or other mortar, grind the sesame seeds until they are roughly broken. Mix in the shoyu, sake, mirin, honey, garlic, ginger, paprika, and sesame oil. Marinate the beef in this mixture for 15 to 20 minutes.
Remove the beef from the marinade, leaving the sesame seeds that adhere to the surface of the meat. Discard the remaining marinade.
