Cut 300 g (10½ oz) tofu (I prefer silken tofu) into 4 equal pieces and place on a double layer of paper towel. Drain for 10 minutes, then replace the paper towel and flip the tofu.

Spread 2 tablespoons cornflour (cornstarch) on a tray and dust the tofu all over.

Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the tofu and cook on both sides for 2–3 minutes.

Spoon 3 tablespoons teriyaki sauce (store-bought or homemade) on top of the tofu, turn and cook for 1 minute.
