This Ukrainian fish dish has travelled to Israel, to the American Jewish community and wherever else Ukrainian Jews have emigrated to. Baking fish in a sauce keeps it moist. Serve the creamy pink horseradish sauce on the side, as a condiment.

Ingredients

  • 4 thick cod fillets or steaks
  • 15 ml/1 tbsp lemon juice

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4. Place the fish in a buttered ovenproof dish in a single layer. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
