This dish of tender beans dressed with sweet peppers, hot chilli and lemony vinaigrette is a culmination of the influences brought to Israel by Jews of Turkey, Bulgaria and Greece. This salad is best prepared ahead of time and enjoyed as part of the Shabbat festive meal, or as a feature of a warm-weather al fresco feast.
