Such is the simplicity of this a Shkenazic speciality, it can be served with just about any main course dish. Omit the parmesan cheese for a pareve dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 large cauliflower, cut into bitesize florets
  • pinch of sugar
  • 90–120 ml/6–8

Method

  1. Bring a pan of water to the boil and add the pinch of sugar, and one of salt. Drop in the cauliflower florets and steam until just tender. Drain and leave to cool.

  2. Heat 60–75
