A base of thin filo pastry is topped with a ground walnut mixture and coffee buttercream. This is quintessential Eastern European patisserie.

Ingredients

  • 4 sheets of filo pastry
  • 50 g/2 oz/4

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4. Grease and line a deep 20cm/8in square cake tin (pan). Brush the sheets of filo pastry with the butter, fold them over and place them in the base of the prepared tin.
