Put the rice into a well greased casserole. Add the salt and boiling water and stir well. Cover dish with a tight-fitting lid or kitchen foil and cook for 35–40 minutes in an oven heated to 350°F (180°C) or gas no. 4 until rice grains are soft and cooking liquid has been absorbed. Add the butter, fluff grains with a fork and serve.
