  • ½ pint (300 ml) water
  • 2 level teaspoons powdered gelatine

Method

Put 2 tablespoons of the water into a teacup, sprinkle in the gelatine and leave to soak for 5 minutes. Put the remaining water and the sugar into a saucepan and stir over low heat until sugar has dissolved. Bring to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 1 minute. Draw off the heat, add the s
