Ingredients

  • 6–8 oz (175–200 g) icing sugar about
  • 2 tablespoons water

Method

Using a fine nylon sieve, sift the icing sugar into a medium-sized mixing bowl. Add sufficient hot water to mix to a thick paste. Then add the vanilla essence, food colouring, if using it, and more hot water and stir until icing leaves a trail when dropped from the spoon. Alternatively, mix to a thick paste with cold water.
