Sift the icing sugar into a mixing bowl. Put the butter, water, castor sugar and coffee essence into a saucepan and stir over low heat until the sugar has dissolved, then bring just to the boiling point and draw off the heat. Pour the hot syrup into the sifted icing sugar and mix until smooth. Then proceed as for chocolate fudge frosting above to make the consistency you require.
