Method

Heat the oven to 350°F (180°C) or gas no. 4. Grease three baking sheets. Put the butter, sugar and golden syrup into a saucepan and stir over low heat until blended. Allow to cool slightly. Sift the flour, bicarbonate of soda, salt and ginger into a mixing bowl, then add the slightly cooled mixture and mix to a soft dough.
