  • 6 oz (175 g) wholemeal flour
  • 2 level teaspoons baking powder

Method

Heat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or gas no. 6. Put the wholemeal flour, baking powder, salt and oatmeal into a medium-sized mixing bowl and mix together. Cream the butter and white cooking fat on a plate to soften and blend. Add to the flour mixture in pieces and rub in with the fingertips. Stir in the sugar, then add the milk and mix to a rough dough.
