This apple sauce can be left quite natural and chunky or blended until smooth and sweetened with caster sugar if preferred. Serve with roast pork.

Ingredients

  • 3 Bramley apples, peeled, cored and roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 25 g

Method

  • Place the apples in a saucepan with 2 tablespoons water and the lemon juice and cook over a low heat for 10-15 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in the butter and sugar, if using.
  • The sauce can be left chunky or put into a blender and whisked to a smooth consistency
