Pear Red Cabbage

I’ve included sloe gin in this recipe. Sloe berries are the fruit of the blackthorn, small and blue-black, and their flavour blends wonderfully with gin. If you don’t have any sloe gin, replace with an extra 200ml (7fl oz) red wine.
