These crispy puff-pastry sticks are quick and easy to make and can be served with desserts. Any shape, from triangles and diamonds to circles, can be cut.


  • 375 g (13 oz) ready-rolled puff pastry
  • 1 egg yolk


  • Preheat the oven to 220°C/425°F/gas 7.
  • Unroll the puff pastry on a chopping board. Mix the egg yolk with the milk to loosen it, then brush the egg over the pastry, covering it completely. Sprinkle liberally with the sugar.
