With coffee a touchstone flavor of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, one finds versions of this sauce throughout the region. It goes beautifully with ice cream, but I also like to pour some onto a plate before setting apiece of sponge cake, chocolate cake, gubana, or pinza on top of it.
