An easy and popular preparation to use either as a small plate or as a hearty first or main course. Cheese is essential, hut the mushrooms or sausage are optional. Do not use both options. This is a delicious dish.


  • 1 bowl hot, soft yellow Polenta (either an appetizer or large portion)
  • 1 ounce/30 g sliced


Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C.

Prepare the polenta according to the recipe directions. Pour the polenta into a heatproof dish or ramekin that is taller than it is wide (or, at the very least, not a flat dish).
