This is a family recipe that I tasted at the home of wine producers in the Isonzo zone. The grandmother told me that the reason she likes this side dish so much is that it goes well with just about every imaginable meat and many types of fish. Her son told me that the dish is also versatile because it seems to match well with most any red or white wine. Use small, sweet carrots, and try to find red wine grapes.
