I tasted this coffee in Trieste, where it is an old preparation. Unlike many coffee preparations found in places like Seattle, which are flavored with nut oils and berries, this one is more classical. Spices are essential to the Triestine flavor palate, and cardamom is an unusual and highly congenial companion to good coffee. You may drink this straight or with a small drop of whipped cream.
