“Coddle” is such a cosy word, maybe the connotations of a word very close in sound, cuddle, adds to the fuzzy, fluffy feeling of the word. A coddled egg is a thing of beauty. You can eat it naked, as in the egg and not you, or add chopped herbs, cheese, smoked salmon, ham, bacon and numerous other ingredients to it. The choice is yours. Here, I have set out the method for how to coddle an egg, whist adding a few variations that you can add to the naked coddled egg.
