Delicious little lightly spiced and fruited buns which are a cross between a scone and cake and are an essential treat for the tea-time table. The “Rock” part of the name should only apply to the appearance and not the texture and it’s probably where these little bakes got their name from.

Ingredients

  • 225 g self-raising flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 100 g

Method

  1. Pre-heat oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas mark 6. Grease 2 baking trays.
  2. Mix the flour and salt together and then rub in the butter with your fingertips until it resembles sand.
