  • 4 New York strip steaks, about 6 oz (185 g) each
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper

Method

Heat a large cast-iron frying pan over medium-high heat. Generously sprinkle the steaks with salt and pepper. When the pan is hot, add 1 Tbsp of the oil and then the steaks, and cook until nicely browned, about 2 minutes. Turn and cook until browned on the second sides and medium-rare in the center,
