Nothing compares to the smoky, salty scent of bacon cooking. It conjures up the warmth of the morning table and the comforts of home. Here, the addition of a sweet maple glaze enhances a breakfast classic.


  • 12 thick slices applewood-smoked bacon
  • 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread the bacon in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Bake until the bacon is barely crisp and browned, 15–20 minutes
