  • 2 cups (16 fl oz/500 ml) low-fat or whole milk

Method

In a small saucepan, combine the milk, cocoa powder, and sugar. Heat over medium heat, whisking until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is warmed through. Add the chocolate, salt, and cinnamon, and continue whisking vigorously until the mixture is frothy, smooth, and very warm.

Pour into coffee cups or mugs. Add brandy or ice cream, or both, if using, and serve.
