Brescia produces the best peaches in the world. There’s a guy in Valle Trompia who has produced peaches for Queen Elizabeth II for the last 30 years. Prince Charles brought him to England to grow peaches there – but the result wasn’t the same, no doubt due to the different soil and climate. Sometimes we reduce this jam further to make jellies, like Turkish delight, which we roll in sugar and serve with coffee.
