Black-eyed peas are said to bring good luck for the new year. Growin’ up, I was only used to eatin’ ’em cooked like pinto beans. Now, I loved Mom’s cookin’, but this just wasn’t one of my favorite dishes. That’s why I decided to put a twist on the traditional.
